Ballarat’s largest and most presigious handicap singles tournament – the Ballarat Open Handicap Singles has just been completed for the year – with two relative newcomers making it to the final. Liam Stringer and Alison Dugdale fended off a draw of over 50 players to make it to the final, with some very hard fought matches being played throughout the year. The first set of the final was a very close affair, with Liam eventually taking it out 6/4 – and with building confidence, managed to close out the match 6/4 6/0. Liam recorded wins against Matthew Dunn, Robert Lagerberg, Wendy Whitehead and eventually Alison Dugdale to take out the event. Congratulations to both players on making it to the final…and a big WELL DONE to Liam on his victory. Next years event is sure to be a ripper. Stay tuned!!
